NO AGENDA = NO PASS.
Acceptable Work: Work is expected to be completed on time, have the students full name, be legible and work must be shown in order for me to grasp student understanding of topics. . Discipline Policy:
I maintain a pleasant learning environment I use a three strike and your out system. All the students’ names are on the chalk board with three checks next to them. When students disrupt class, make fun of another student, get out of their seat without permission, etc, a warning is given. The classroom expectations were clearly labeled at the beginning of the year. If a student is warned one or two times nothing happens. If a student is addressed a third time, a teacher detention is assigned at an agreed upon time between me and the student and the parent is notified
Homework: Homework is very important in mathematics. Students will be assigned homework 4 days a week and sometimes 5 depending on when assessments are given. Homework will reflect the lesson taught during the class period or material previously covered in the year. Homework should take students no more than 20 minutes to complete. However; when students are given a review packet for an upcoming test, this may take them longer. Students are responsible for all homework assignments, there are no excuses. If homework is not completed students are expected to stay after to complete the assignments. Homework will not be accepted after 1 week from when it is assigned.
Preparation and Sleeping in class: Students are responsible to bring their binder, agenda and writing utensils each and every day to class. Being unprepared and placing head down is not an option. We are holding student to high standards. They are here to learn and being unprepared and sleeping hinders education. In certain circumstances, this is acceptable (locker would not open, not feeling well etc.) however, when this occurs checks from discipline policy will be removed and parents will be notified of issues.
Participation: With the new digital textbook students are going to be asked to engage in more group work and classroom discussion. This is not optional. Students must work with peers and must participate in classroom discussions. They will be given grades based on contributions to the class.
